In our intake programme, the Organization accepts abandoned, abused, lost, neglected, orphaned & battered children.
Adoption
We provide parent-less kids with parents. The programme also gives childless couples/individuals with the opportunity of becoming parents.
Residential Care (Children’s Home)
We provide residential care to children in need of care viz-
Provide basic needs: Food, Shelter, Medical Care and clothing
Provide emotional care: Therapeutic Counselling & Love
Provide Educational Care and Socialization
Provide Spiritual Care
Family Preservation
To prevent the poor/troubled family from disintegrating, we support the family with therapeutic counselling, food parcels and school uniforms. We also teach them survival skills, including inviting mothers into our job-creation projects.
Pre-school Education
We provide a safe place for kids (between 18 months & 5/6 years) whilst parents are at work, coupled with developmentally appropriate learning activities. We also have Grade-R class both at Kopanong & Phomolong Premises Accredited by Department of Education.
Poverty Alleviation And Skills Development
We provide training (Sewing skills, Baking & Food Gardening)to poor unemployed families. We also provide relief in the form of food parcels when funds permit.
Foster-Care
We provide opportunities for vulnerable & orphaned children to be legally placed in care with families/relatives or non-relatives. Help the fostering parent(s) to apply & receive state grant to financially provide for the needs of these children, including education.
Child Abuse-Services
To provide child abused children and their families with medical care and counselling to create awareness about this act of crime. Where the perpetrator (abuser) is known, Tembisa Child Welfare will help and support the family to open criminal charges against the abuser.
Family Re-Unification
We offer reconstruction services to families (if there are any) of Children’s Home Kids to ultimately reunite them with families/relatives. In this process we recruit foster parents or adoptive parents to give children homes.
Hosting Programme
We organize families that can take in our Children’s Home Kids during school holidays, especially in December, whereby exposing them to “proper”, good family life.
Remedial Education
Children’s Home Kids have remedial teachers that help with home-works and supporting those with learning problems.
