Tembisa Child and Family Welfare Society (herein referred to Tembisa Child Welfare) was established in 1986. Tembisa Child Welfare’s main purpose is the interest of children and their families.
This organization developed and grew to have a presence in Tembisa as a Township to address the problems of children who were Abandoned, Abused, Neglected, Orphaned, Lost and Battered Children, providing two (2) residential care facilities (Children's Homes) and two (2) Day-Care facilities.
We also provide Foster-Care, Adoption, Child Abuse services for children in need of care.
We also provide Skills Training for unemployed women & men (Baking, Sewing School & Food Gardening Projects).
We give services to parents who are hooked on drugs & kids who are also hooked on drugs.
We contribute to the community through skills development and poverty alleviation. Every six months different unemployed adults from the community are given sewing and baking skills.
